Zeus is constantly checking on them and when Paris lets him he gives them little licks and tries to cozy them in a blanket by pushing it around them with his nose. So here we are, our second litter was just born upstairs in a huge whelping box in our living room so we can be next to them and mom at all times through the first weeks of their tiny lives. As for the VwD the Vet sent out a blood draw and he was completely cleared of having the disease which was amazing news! There is a lower chance of his kiddos carrying on the mutation. The vet also stated since he was bred with a fully cleared female it is absolutely fine that he was bred. We were very scared at first so we spoke to our veterinarian and while it’s unfortunate he carries the DCM1 mutation he does not have the second marker lowering his risk. When Zeus’s test results came back, we did find he was a VwD carrier and also carries the mutation for DCM1. Difference of opinions come into play here but with her wonderful health reviews she will have healthy babies so this is fantastic! Uncommon for pet quality and especially uncommon for dogs that have lineage leading back to the white Doberman which is why she is labeled WZ on her AKC registry. So we did health testing through Embark and were lucky to find that our Paris was amazingly clear of all 172 health markers tested for including eyes, spine, DM, DCM, VwD. including that we needed to at least do minimum DNA health testing for ‘pet quality ‘ pups which is what our Sire and Dam are. So after a lot of talking, going in head first and blinded by our love for them, we decided we would breed them.ĭuring the sales of our first litter we encountered a whole new world of Doberman knowledge. The moment Zeus and Paris met it was an obvious ‘soul-mate’ moment! They can still not stand to be separated and he puts her before himself in every situation. Two months later we decided to get my husband a Male because I had spent so much time at home with Paris as a baby she latched onto me. We fell so much in love with her and spoiled and nurtured her and she was quickly very strong and happy. She was so tiny only 5 weeks old when we received her, she was the runt of her litter and her Mother had tried to do away with her because she wasn’t thriving. We purchased our Paris in May 2017 for my husband who always wanted a Doberman. All pups come with a 5 yr genetic health guarantee and a care package including a blanket Mom has slept on and scented well to help your pups transition. we have found this to make the adjustment much easier on both the families and the pups themselves.

We also offer weekly and bi-weekly visits for families that are able so that they may bond with their puppies before finally taking them home at week 8. We have cameras set up in the crate and over the kennels for our awaiting families so they may watch their new family members grow day by day.

By 4 weeks we are needing more space for playing and going potty so the pups are moved to a larger puppy run kennel next to where Mom will now sleep. By three weeks of age they can see well, are beginning to teethe and are needing their Mother less already, but they will now be needing their humans much much more and feedings up to 5 times per day begin. When they are born they can be anywhere from just under 1 lb but up to nearly 2 lbs in size! Even at night someone stays in the living room to sleep by them so we can be there if they need us. The first three weeks: The puppies are delivered in a giant whelping box right here in our living room! We do not leave their sides to ensure they are safe, healthy and thriving at all times.
